We’ve all had those bad days where it feels like no matter what you do, nothing is going your way. You sleep through your alarm, you step in a puddle while wearing your new shoes, you miss the bus … this list could go on forever.
And when you have that many things working against you all at once, it can be impossible to see how things can get better.

I am no stranger to negative thinking, trust me. I wish I could say something like, “Don’t let the little things bring you down!” but I have most definitely quit for the day and gone back to bed all because one too many cars cut me off in traffic.
But in all honesty, sometimes you just need to have one of these days where you just remove yourself from everything that is making you mad or upset and recharge for a few hours.
Of course, if you are letting the little things ruin your ENTIRE day, that’s something different. Not every day is going to be stellar.
No one is able to wake up every morning with a smile on their face and ready to kick ass — or if there is, I haven’t met them yet.
But one thing you should be able to do is to be thankful for the day you had, no matter how crappy it was, by the time you get into bed for the night.
You might be asking yourself why being thankful for every day is important. It might just be fine to be thankful for the days that were actually good or productive, right? Well, yes and no. While it’s good to be happy and grateful for a good day, being thankful for a bad one is just as important.
Why? Because you’re alive and because you get to start over tomorrow. Positive thinking is a form of stress management that is good for you, too.

You don’t have to have a good day every day, but you should try to at least see some good in even the worst days.
Yes, you were late for the bus this morning, but your boss did thank you for getting that big project finished before you left work yesterday. If you ask me, that’s a huge win on a bad day.
I remember one episode of Sex and the City when Charlotte was asked if she was always happy in her marriage (not totally the same, but bear with me). Her response was yes, even though her friends couldn’t figure out how that was. When she explained, she said, “Not all day every day, but every day.”
Yes, it’s hard to have good days all the time, but even finding the smallest bits of happiness in every day is an amazing start, just take it from Charlotte.
Of course, getting yourself in the right mindset can be hard, so here are some inspirational quotes about how to see the good in every day, even when every day isn’t good.
