Growing up in the 90s was a completely different world than it is today. In a world without iPhones, iPads, and even WiFi, we got to enjoy spending all our time outside with our friends and watching cartoons pretty much every chance we got.

Kids who grew up in the 90s always had the best toys, the weirdest (yet delicious) foods, and we were at the peak of flannel shirts. Because the 90s were so different than today, we grew up with different priorities and woes.

A 90s kid never had to worry about someone not responding to a text message. Instead, our biggest concern was searching for a blank VHS tape to record our Saturday morning cartoons on.

Between growing up with Rugrats and Doug, and heading to Claire's for stick-on earrings and butterfly clips, there were a lot less problems to worry about.

Not growing up on the internet meant we couldn't be cyber-bullied. It meant that if someone wanted to be mean to us, they actually had to say it to our face. We didn't have Netflix and 500 channels, so most of our time was spent outdoors with our friends or playing old school video games.

So, if you grew up in the 90s, here are 28 things only you would understand:

The importance of where each butterfly clip was placed on your head.
