We all know what Aaron Gordon is capable of and his importance in the Denver Nuggets team. Therefore, now, we will take a closer look at Gordon’s family life.
Who is Aaron Gordon’s mom?
The 27-year-old NBA star was born to Ed Gordon and Shelly Davis. His father is a former San Diego State basketball star.
Many people do not know this, but Aaron Gordon mom is a computer scientist and engineer in Silicon Valley.
She is a highly skilled and reputed individual in her field of work and her career expands over three decades.
Owing to his African-American-White ethnicity, Gordon has had the chance to experience the pros and cons of both races.
Gordon’s father, Ed, has an African-American descent, whereas, his mom, Shelly, has a white American background.
Aaron Gordon’s mom’s profession gave him a new kind of awareness. When he used to visit his mother’s office as a kid, he noticed that none of the employees looked like him or even his mother, for that matter.
In an interview, Gordon revealed that at ten years of age, he observed that all the employees at his mom’s office were white men.
Shelly was the only female employee, and he could not see a person of color within a ten-meter radius of the office.
This observation deeply impacted him even at such a young age. He made it his mission to change this dynamic and open doors for people of color in the field of technology.
In 2018, when Gordon was playing for the Orlando Magic, he and his family founded the ‘Gordon Family Giving Foundation,’ whose aim is “to provide opportunity through science, technology, engineering and math education to underserved and underrepresented young students.”
He wanted to inspire underprivileged kids of color to enter the tech world.
By using Aaron Gordon’s mom’s expertise and 35 years long experience, they together started CodeOrlando, an immersive STEM experience.
The program primarily caters to students of color who are the most underrepresented and underserved group of people in the fields of technology, engineering, and maths.
While referring to the program, Shelly Davis said, “Aaron and I have always talked about how we really wanted systemic change and we really wanted to do something that was more lasting than just a giveaway.”
Shelly Davis Gordon is a powerhouse in herself. She holds a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State in computer information systems and a master’s degree from the University of San Diego in marketing.
She broke all stereotypes when she joined Silicon Valley in 1982 as the first female employee in a white male-dominated industry.
Having three biracial kids made her more aware of the problems of Black people and motivated her to work for their betterment.
Is Aaron Gordon married?

After graduation, she became her younger brother Aaron’s manager. According to some sources, she also works as a representative of his agency.
Some people say that Elisabeth has been her baby brother’s wing woman. Undoubtedly, Elisabeth has fulfilled her manager duties exceptionally.
When asked what made him comfortable being managed by his sister, Aaron Gordon had a long list.
“Her credentials alone. Where she graduated from. What she’s into academically. How capable she is as an individual. The extension of her love for me. And then basically, me being naïve coming into the NBA at 18 years old.”
Gordon said his sister’s biggest challenge initially was not being so nice. She quickly became very good at preventing people from taking advantage of him.
