Personal Statement
Dear Coach,
My name is Aidan Fassnacht, and I am an aspiring collegiate goalie currently at The Pingry School in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. In the Pingry community, I have been able to excel as a scholar, athlete, and person as well. I am dedicated, resilient, and would describe myself as a great teammate on and off the field. Athletically, I have proven to be very coachable and hold myself to a high standard of performance. For instance, I only just picked up hockey goalie in 8th grade--prior I couldn't even skate--but I was committed to being the best I can be. Fast forward to my Junior year of high school and the coach of a AAA hockey team wants me to play for them next year. This same attitude is applied to both my academics and lacrosse (my true calling), as I began my varsity career in my Sophmore year with five starts. Academically, I can compete at any highly competitive institution, as my high marks in one of the most prestigious high schools in New Jersey prove.
During my collegiate career, I hope to not only grow as a student but grow as a person and athlete as well. I see college as a time to find your calling and mature into an independent adult, all while having a great time in the process. In athletics, I strive to be a part of the brotherhood I find most lacrosse teams to be. Yes, I love winning and will do everything I can to train for success, but I really love this sport because of the comradery and atmosphere amongst teammates and coaches, whether it be on the field, in the weight room, or in life. Also, nothing beats competing at a high level, which is why I hope we can get in touch!
