Personal Statement
When I was in 3rd grade, for a project, I was asked what I wanted to be when I grow up. I said that I wanted to be a professional soccer player. Just like everyone else who plays soccer. But for me, I take this sentiment very seriously, I have a 2hr workout 5 days a week, soccer practice 3 times a week, and either track or cross country practice depending on the season. Then back for food and homework, and again the next day and the next. For me, when I play soccer it's one of the best ways I am able to express myself, it's an art. I can adapt to many situations on the field, because I have played all of the positions, including goalie. What does this mean, it allows me to understand the roles of each player on the team, and understand where they should be or not. I then use that soccer IQ to move, pass and create scoring opportunities for both club and high school teams, as well as, defend these positions on the field. This quality makes me a valuable teammate and my soccer IQ is an asset to any coach. I'm working hard on and off the pitch and want to develop into a better athlete and better student, and to that end, I am enrolled in 4 honors classes in my junior year and now senior year.
