Angel Reese will be leaving her "Bayou Barbie" moniker in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

After getting selected by the Chicago Sky in the first round of the 2024 WNBA draft, the former LSU star said on social media she's looking for a new nickname:

Angel Reese @Reese10Angel

i need a new name now that i'm in chicago lol something cute that is catchy like Bayou Barbie 😭👀

Reese already had plenty of luck leaning on outside input when it came to building her brand. She told Cara O'Bleness of Sports Illustrated in May 2023 that "Bayou Barbie" was something an LSU fan called her in Baton Rouge and she "just ran with it."

"I mean, it kind of fits me," she said. "I'm in Baton Rouge, which is the bayou, and then the Barbie part is my nails, lashes, hair [which are] always done on the court, so yeah, it went together."

Of course, the downside of "Bayou Barbie" was that it would only apply for as long as Reese suited up for the Tigers. Now that she's moving north to the Windy City, the nickname simply doesn't work as well.

Given her popularity and social media reach, the 6'3" forward shouldn't have much trouble finding a new one that's just as unique.
