Anika Noni Rose is an American singer and actress with a net worth of $3 million. She gained fame with her Tony Award-winning performance in the Broadway production of Caroline, or Change. She started performing in school productions during her freshman year in high school and continued her theater studies at Florida A&M University, where she earned a BA degree in theater.
She then pursued drama at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, California, before moving to New York to pursue her Broadway career. After three months, she landed her first Broadway role as Rusty in Footloose, which was followed by numerous workshops and two musicals using pre-existing song catalogs.
Rose’s big Broadway break came when she was cast as Emmie Thibodeaux in Caroline, or Change in 2004. She won the Theater World Award, the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Featured Actress, as well as the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical that year.
