Indianapolis Colts defensive lineman Arthur Jones was suspended for the first four games of the 2016 NFL regular season July 22 for violating the league's policy against performance-enhancing substances.

"I did a piss-poor job of double-checking my supplements to make sure nothing was banned," Jones said Tuesday, courtesy of WTHR.com's Bob Kravitz.

The 30-year-old veteran missed the entire 2015 season due to an ankle injury after appearing in nine games and registering 34 total tackles and 1.5 sacks for the Colts in 2014.

Jones spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens after they selected him in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL draft out of Syracuse.

The brother of Arizona Cardinals pass-rusher Chandler Jones has appeared in 55 games during his NFL career, starting 23 of them and producing to the tune of 154 tackles and 10 sacks.

Jones is also the brother of UFC standout Jon Jones, who was pulled from UFC 200 and temporarily suspended due to a positive drug test.

With Arthur Jones out of the equation for the first month of the season, the Colts may be forced to turn to a far less experienced option at defensive tackle, such as fourth-round rookie Hassan Ridgeway or journeymen T.Y. McGill and Kelcy Quarles.
