Kylee Russell had her eye on Aven Jones before he even arrived on Bachelor in Paradise. Whether the two were to end up together, no one knew, but judging by how the season 9 finale ended, almost all of her wishes were granted.
With gossip around every corner and tears flowing like there was no tomorrow, Bachelor in Paradise season 9 didn’t disappoint on the drama front. One of the couples who had a rocky start but were pretty solid throughout the whole show was Kylee and Aven. Kylee had hopes of leaving Mexico with a ring. But, it doesn’t look like they confirmed their commitment to one another with an engagement.
Kylee and Aven on Bachelor in Paradise
When Kylee first arrived in ABC‘s Paradise she wasn’t afraid to step on Olivia Lewis’ toes by asking Will Urena out on a date.
However, Kylee had already expressed she was really interested in getting to know another Bachelor Nation star, Aven Jones. But, Aven hadn’t arrived in Mexico just yet.
Once Aven did arrive, the two went on a romantic first date and stayed together throughout season 9.

BiP stars exchanged emojis before show
Although Kylee and Aven’s romance was organic, the two did communicate via emojis prior to appearing on Bachelor in Paradise.
But, it wasn’t totally smooth sailing for the two on the ABC dating show. Aven’s ex, Rachel Recchia, shook things up by arriving in Paradise.
Fans were also confused by Kylee begging Blake Moynes to stay on the show and some weren’t keen on how much she wanted to get engaged in episode 10.

The Bachelor in Paradise season 9 finale aired on December 7 and saw Kylee and Aven leave the show together.
Only two couples from season 9 left the show engaged – and Aven and Kylee weren’t one of them.
Kylee was eager to leave the series with a ring on her finger. But, Aven wasn’t ready to make such a commitment.
They both still follow one another on Instagram at the time of writing but haven’t posted online regarding their current relationship status.
Many fans criticized Kylee for being so keen on an engagement, commenting on her Instagram post: “you don’t have to leave the show engaged! he loves you and wants to be with you and that’s enough… that’s not to say you won’t get engaged down the line but he just needs a bit more time..”
However, others said that at 30 years old, Aven should be ready to settle down.
One fan commented in Aven’s defense: “I think you Aven was the smart one! Why anyone would get engaged after a couple of months is crazy. The best thing to do is like you said, leave together and date for a while outside of paradise. I’m glad you didn’t succumb to the pressure.”
