Bob Volk Obituary, Death – Tragically, Bob Volk, a beloved member of the Nicollet County Fair Board, passed away on December 8th at the age of 91. His departure has created a hole in our community. Bob is an invaluable part of our history because of his tireless dedication to the fair over many years. The fact that Bob had been a vital cog in our board since 1989 is evidence of his commitment.

Before he was on the board, he ran his illustrious company, Volk Electric, and was the fair’s electrician for an incredible quarter of a century. It was an indelible aspect of his character; his dedication transcended words. Bob was discovered working lonesomely beneath the bleachers, completely absorbed in repairs, on a hot summer day at the age of 86.

This incident exemplified his devotion. His dogged determination and unwavering work ethic shone through in all that he did. Bob’s impact goes well beyond his work in the corporate world. He exemplified unwavering commitment, motivating everyone around him with his enthusiasm and hard work during the fair. The Nicollet County Fair will be missing him dearly because of how much he meant to the community.

Our deepest sympathies are with his cherished wife Carol and their family during this difficult time. As we remember Bob, we take comfort in the lasting impact he has made. The Nicollet County Fair would not be the same without his dogged determination and unfaltering dedication.
