Personal Statement

UPDATE: August 2015

Beginning 11th grade as a homeschooled student at Ferndale High School.  Attending Penn Highlands College for academic courses. Participating in golf and basketball at Ferndale. Other extra curricular activities not through a high school remain the same.  Due to college course schedule, I am not currently a band member or playing for CIA basketball team.

March 2015

Currently a 10th grade homeschooled student participating in Concert Band, Marching Band, Men's Golf, and Men's varsity Basketball at Everett High School. I am the President of my 4-H club carrying livestock projects and shooting sports. I am active in my church and youth group.  I volunteer at a local Love In the Name of Christ Ministry Center. Our church is a Samaritan's Purse Opertion Christmas Child (OCC) Collection Center and I volunteer during collection week.  I also worked at the OCC Processing Centers in Charlotte, NC and Baltimore, MD.  Summer of 2014, I taught Children's Church for 8 weeks.

As a 9th grader, I played for Freedom AAU on a U11 team in Altoona, PA in 2014. I am a member of a year round homeschool basketball team, CIA, that plays in a public school summer rec league and attends tournaments. This spring, 2015, I am playing for Winner's Circle AAU on a U11 team in Johnstown, PA.

My high school basketball team (EHS) is a AA school and a member of the ICC South in PA. We were ranked 723 in the state for 2013-2014 and ended with a 0-22 record. We improved this season with 6 wins.

I play all positions depending on the team/level of play.  My Altoona AAU team played me at Forward, Guard, and occasionally Point Guard.  My homeschool team plays me at Point Guard and Guard.  Everett High School played me at Forward for most of my 9th grade season and then as Guard/Shooting Guard for the end of the season.  This year (10th) at Everett I played Guard until the last 4 games of the season when I was moved to Forward/Shooting Guard. I think my versatility is my greatest asset.

I am not sure of a career although I am inclined towards a Business Degree possibly with a Sports related aspect.

My basketball goals include being a contributing member of a team that has a successful program in their conference. I am looking for a good fit where my skills will continue to improve and character matters.

2013 Maximum Exposure third party evaluation done in Rockville MD two months before my first High School Varsity season when I was 14 yrs.old:

From Maximum Exposure:  There's a ton of opportunity here for growth as he is a 2017 graduate. Like the aggressive nature on the offensive side of the ball as he was able to take it to the rim hard w/ his straight line drives. Will need to be able to make that secondary move in tight traffic to where he doesn't always need to dish it off when help defense comes over. Has a nice touch and good form. Has above average athleticism for someone at his size and he should be using that more on the defensive side of the ball to cause chaos for the opposing team. Good length and I think there's room to grow a few more inches. If so, this could be someone that would be a very nice 2/3 or a ¾ at the smaller levels. The key is to be a combo player! Continue to grow his inside/out game and not grow into a one dimensional guy?.
