Brock Purdy may have led the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl, but he's not even close to being the best player on his team, according to former NFL quarterback Cam Newton.

"If you really just want to be honest, if you add in the defensive talent and you add in the offensive talent, Brock Purdy is the 10th-best player on this team," Newton said on his 4th and 1 show. "OK, cool. Did he have a great game? Yes. Has he been playing out of his mind? Yes. Is he a quarterback that's hot? Yes. But he's still the 10th-best player on this team."

Newton previously labeled Purdy a "game manager" and not a "game changer," adding that the 49ers are "not winning because of him." Tua Tagovailoa, Jared Goff and Dak Prescott were also labeled as "game managers."

Purdy has been solid this postseason, completing 61.4 percent of his passes for 519 yards and two touchdowns against one interceptions in two games. While he may not be among San Francisco's top-10 players, he's a huge reason why they're playing for a Super Bowl title this year.

If Purdy puts up a strong performance against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas to help the 49ers clinch their first championship since the 1994 season, he might just silence the doubters.
