Personal Statement
I've fallen in love with the process of wrestling. What started out as something I enjoyed 9 years ago has turned into something I passionately pursue and I'm constantly striving to perfect my skill set. I often drive an hour one way just to find kids/coaches that can take me to the next level. It's not work when it's something you love to do. I'm especially strong in the top position and have been working hard in the off season to become well rounded on my feet as well as the bottom position.
Academically, I'm an honor student and I haven't chosen the easy path to get there. I go to the career center in the morning to pursue my nursing education which is what I believe I want to do as a career. Then, I return to the high school to take my college prep classes.
Community wise, I'm a member of Grace Brethren Church in Ashland, Oh. I love children so I volunteer to help with the special needs kids at church. I think it's important to be well rounded. As much as I love wrestling, there's more to life for sure.
I believe to develop a good wrestling program you have to give back and be a mentor and a role model to the young kids. For that reason, I help out with our youth program and try to encourage the young kids to pursue the sport I love. Wrestling and academics hasn't come easy to me. I've worked very hard to get where I am. I credit wrestling for teaching me discipline that has allowed me to succeed in life. I want the kids to know it can do the same for them.
I'm very coachable and would bring a very positive attitude to whatever wrestling room I'm in.
