TLC’s The Family Chantel is due to be back on our screens soon. With that comes the wrath of Chantel Everett and Pedro Jimeno’s dramatic divorce. After Pedro left home, Chantel stole six figures worth of cash.
Chantel ‘stole money’ from Pedro
Chantel once stole $265K from her joint account with Pedro to “protect herself”. However, Pedro accused her of stealing and said that he wants his money back. He claims he worked for his half.
“Tell them if I don’t get half of my money back, I go to my attorney like, ‘Hey, let’s do this’ and that’s it,” Pedro told cameras. When he asked Chantel why she took all of the money, she said, “I can’t trust you.”
She claims she “will give it to him” before adding: “You take $6,000 out, I don’t know where it went. You get a new apartment.” Pedro then said: “Give me my half and you get your half.”
Pedro moves out on The Family Chantel
Before Pedro moved out, he found a savings account that Chantel had. He told her on the phone that he had found paperwork of the account on her bed and said: “You were ready.”
Chantel shut him down and said: “No, no, you’ll never find that money. It’s not in a savings account. You will never find that money, Pedro, you’ve got it all wrong. I haven’t opened any new accounts.”
He then pleaded with Chantel to put his money back before accusing her of “robbing him and escaping with the money”. Pedro added that he would press charges if she didn’t.
Chantel and Pedro’s divorce
TLC’s Chantel and Pedro are currently going through divorce proceedings. They didn’t speak for at least nine months after he moved out of their home and returned to Santo Domingo.
At the time of writing, their divorce has not been finalized. However, Chantel did travel all the way to his home country to let him know that she and her family are “done” with him.
When Chantel and Pedro met witha lawyer to discuss their divorce, he said “thank God” he was cutting all ties from his former wife. At the end of The Family Chantel trailer, she claims he slept with someone else. So far, Pedro has not admitted to being unfaithful to his wife after countless accusations.
