Who was Claude Akins?

Claude Akins was an American actor with over 225 acting credits to his name. He studied theater at Northwestern University and served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II. Akins is best known for his role as Sheriff Lobo in the TV series B.J. and the Bear and The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo. He also appeared in movies such as Comanche Station, Battle for the Planet of the Apes, and Falling from Grace. Akins passed away in 1994 at the age of 67 from cancer.
