Dappy is an English singer-songwriter, rapper, and actor known for being the lead singer of the British rap trio N-Dubz. He was born in Camden, Greater London, in 1987, and struggled throughout his school years. Dappy dropped out of school when he was 15 but later went back to college and successfully took exams.
He began writing music with his friend Fazer in middle school, and by age thirteen, they formed a band called Lickle Rinsers Crew with Dappy’s cousin Tulisa. After signing with All Around the World Records in 2006, the group released two singles.
Dappy’s father passed away from a heart attack in 2007, leaving the group in financial and emotional distress. However, the single Dappy wrote for his father, “Papa, Can You Hear Me?”, became their first Top 20 hit. In 2012, he released his first solo album, “Bad Intentions”.
Dappy joined the cast of season 13 of Celebrity Big Brother in the UK in January 2014. He has three sons with a former girlfriend named Kaye Vassell.
