New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen believes he will remain in the role for the 2024 season.

When asked about whether he expects to be back as the Saints head coach next season, Allen confirmed that remaining with New Orleans "is my expectation."

The Saints went 9-8 in 2023 and narrowly missed out on the postseason. It was his second season as the team's head coach and the record was an improvement from the Saints 7-10 finish in 2022.

Allen's confidence is supported by reports indicating that he was expected to remain the team's head coach.

While 2023 was an improvement for New Orleans, falling short of the playoffs for the third consecutive season was a significant disappointment considering the splashes made last offseason.

The Saints signed quarterback Derek Carr and running back Jamaal Williams in the offseason and were in a division that was extremely winnable, considering the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were NFC South champs with an identical record.

While losing out via a tiebreaker shows that the team was on the cusp, it was the third straight year in which New Orleans missed the postseason. If Allen returns for next season, the pressure will be on in 2024 to snap the drought.
