Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh will reportedly be in attendance when his brother, Jim Harbaugh, coaches the Michigan Wolverines against the Washington Huskies in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on Monday night.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, John Harbaugh and several others in the Ravens organization will travel to Houston for the game, including current Ravens and former Michigan defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, general manager Eric DeCosta and executive vice president of player personnel Ozzie Newsome.

The trip is made possible by the fact that the Ravens have already clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC and a first-round bye in the playoffs next week.

With a perfect 14-0 record, the Wolverines are the No. 1 team in the nation, but their status will be put to the test against another 14-0 team in the No. 2 Huskies.

Jim Harbaugh is in the midst of his ninth season as the head coach at his alma mater, and this marks the first time he will play for a national title after falling in the CFP semifinals the previous two seasons.

Michigan had a tough road to the national championship game, beating Ohio State in its regular-season finale and then outlasting Alabama in overtime in the CFP semifinal at the Rose Bowl.

Despite an undefeated record, it has been a trying season for Michigan and Harbaugh, as he was suspended on two different occasions.

The first three-game suspension was self-imposed due to violations of NCAA rules during the COVID-19 dead period, and the second three-game suspension was handed down by the Big Ten due to a sign-stealing scheme allegedly spearheaded by former Michigan staffer Connor Stalions and a booster from last season into this season.

Harbaugh was suspended despite the university denying that he had any knowledge of the scandal, but he was allowed to return for Michigan's Big Ten Championship Game win over Iowa and the CFP.

Rumors and speculation have run amok that Harbaugh could return to coach in the NFL after this season, especially since it is possible he and the Michigan football program could face NCAA sanctions.

Harbaugh coached in the NFL once before, leading the San Francisco 49ers to a 44-19-1 record from 2011 to 2014. He made three trips to the NFC Championship Game and one Super Bowl appearance during his stint as well.

Famously, Jim and John Harbaugh became the first brothers to be opposing head coaches in a Super Bowl when John and the Ravens beat Jim and the Niners 34-31 in Super Bowl XLVII.

If Jim returns to the NFL after Monday's game, it is possible he and John could face off again as soon as next season.
