Gene “Mitchell” Moore
G. Mitchell Moore was the beloved son of Gene and Vivian Moore. Mitchell was born on April 17, 1987, in Norfolk, Virginia. Family and friends affectionately knew him as “Mitch.” On March 15, 2021, Mitchell, 33, departed this life at his home in Norfolk, Virginia. He was the beloved father of Genayla M. Moore and brother of Krystal L. Moore. Mitchell was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alfred & Julia Richardson, and paternal grandparents, Archie Cicero & Josephine Moore.
Mitchell grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia, where he matriculated through Chesapeake Public Schools, graduating from Great Bridge High School in 2005. He also attended Hampton University.
Mitchell was very musically inclined. He began playing the piano at the age of five through Norfolk State University’s Junior Music Program. While in high school, Mitchell was the youth pianist for the Covenant Presbyterian Church children’s choir. His love of music also extended to playing the oboe in middle school, high school, and college orchestras. Mitchell was a member of Jack & Jill of America, Inc. from three years old to high school.
Mitchell was truly an incredible person who had a great sense of humor. He developed life-long friendships wherever he went. Mitchell had excellent business sense and merged his love for music into a business as the Realistic Entertainment Agency and Label CEO. “Grizzly Life” and the Grizzly bear are the motto and logo of the label.
Mitchell was employed as a carrier for FedEx in Newport News, Virginia.
Mitchell leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Genayla Michell Moore; his parents, Gene & Vivian Moore; his sister, Krystal Laverne Moore; childhood friends, Michael Baker, Chad Powell, William McCadden and Kadeem Mccord; and a host of beloved and devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
