Graham McTavish first wife Gwen Issac is a filmmaker, director, and producer. Gwen specializes in observational and social documentaries. 

Gwen is an award-winning filmmaker. She won Best First-Time Film Director at the London Independent Film Awards for her feature documentary Where There is Life. The documentary also premiered at the New Zealand International Film Festival in 2017.

The most recent project of the London-born is the 2020 documentary titled Siouxsie and the Virus. She directed the documentary which covers the story of microbiologist Siouxsie Wiles and her role in convincing an entire nation to lock down during the pandemic.

Issac was born in London on January 27, 1971. She was raised in the Bay of Islands in New Zealand by her mother as a single parent.

The 51-year-old had a knack for filmmaking which motivated her to study film at Auckland University of Technology. She earned a bachelor's degree with a major in Communications and Television Documentary.

After graduation, Gwen moved back to her hometown in London to pursue a career in filmmaking. There she met actor Graham, and a romantic relationship budded between them.

The couple got married in 2000 and started a family in New Zealand. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters. They became parents for the first time in 2006 after the birth of Honor.

After a two-decades-long marital relationship, the two artists got separated in 2020. McTavish took custody of his daughters. Issac is currently living in New Zealand and fully focused on her work.
