Magnolia offers a buffet breakfast and dinner from 7.30am to 10.30am and 6pm to 9.30pm, where a vegetarian-friendly selection typically includes the likes of chickpeas and spinach, rice with raisins, courgette and goat’s cheese quiche, and vegetable dim sums. A fruity Marqués de Riscal white represents the best value at €26.90 (£24.10) a bottle. Ocean’s View serves snacks from 1pm to 3.30pm, although these are also available at the sunbeds from midday to 5pm. There are also two à la carte restaurants, the Spanish choice, Español, and Krystal, where it’s all-out fusion cuisine.
There are three bars: the aforementioned Rose Lobby Bar, adjoining Bar Salon La Baroque, and Bar Piscina Blue de Mar next to a pool with bar service; as there is to the right of the Español restaurant. Sip on a gin and tonic from a menu including Tanqueray Ten with Nordic tonic water, camomile, and a slice of lemon (€11.30/£10.20) whilst you enjoy shows from the likes of the classical Aquarious Quartet, saxophonist Yutsimi Porriños, and the Aromas Spanish ballet sextet. Heaters are positioned next to the outdoor tables at breakfast, as it takes a little time to warm up to the mid 20s. Highlights are onion bread, fruit juices you can see being prepared before your very eyes, and charcuterie you’d associate more with a food hall than a hotel.
