TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Illigals discotheque located at Jl. Hayam Wuruk, West Jakarta, returned its operation. The Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) stated the night entertainment spot which changed its names to 108 The New Atmosphere had completed the permit.

Jakarta Satpol PP head Yani Wahyu said the sweeping conducted on late Monday, July 2. The officers inspected all of the operational businesses inside the discotheque including karaoke, bar, and spa. “We have checked 5 or 6 businesses there and it’s proven to have fulfilled the requirements set by PTSP Agency (One-Stop Integrated Service Agency),” Yani said Tuesday, July 3.

Yani said the sweeping was held regularly in a bid to check the permit of night entertainment places at Jakarta. “We have to ensure that the management follows the existing regulation of Jakarta administration,” he added.

Yani further said he would keep monitoring nightlife spots especially those whose permit had been revoked such as Diskotek Sense, Exotic, and Alexis.

“We want to make sure places that had been closed cannot back to operate,” said Yani.

Jakarta government had previously sent warning letters to Illigals discotheques due to findings on drug trafficking. The investigation team of Tempo magazine had also found prostitution practices there in January 2018.
