The community of Harvard, Illinois, is grappling with the sudden and tragic loss of high school student Jack Ellis. A talented musician and an exceptional human being, Jack’s untimely demise on October 18, 2023, has left a void that cannot be filled.

The Tragic Loss

Jack Ellis, known for his contagious enthusiasm for life and his exceptional musical talent, died suddenly in a car accident. The news has left his family, friends, and the entire Harvard community in shock and deep sorrow. His parents, Milo and Liam, expressed their heartbreak in a touching tribute to their son, vowing to honor his beautiful soul and the light he spread to all who knew him.

A Musical Prodigy

Jack was not just a student but a passionate saxophone player. His band teacher hailed him as one of the best musicians he had ever taught. His music, much like his personality, resonated with everyone and brought joy to all who heard it.

A Tribute to Jack

In a poignant tribute to their friend, Jack’s peers painted rocks with messages to honor and remember him. These rocks, reflecting Jack’s own hobby of painting, were placed on his chair in the band room, serving as a silent yet powerful testament to the love and respect he commanded among his peers.

A Celebration of Life

A “Celebration of Life” service will be held for Jack on Saturday, October 28th, from 11 am to 3 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvard, IL. This celebration aims to honor Jack’s life, his passions, and the extraordinary impact he left on his community.

Mother of Jack Ellis, Krista Ellis Shared a sorrowful post on social describing her grief for her beloved son:-

This is not the kind of post we’d think we’d ever be posting. Our beautiful, amazing, kind and incredible oldest son Jack Ellis, has sadly passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 due to a tragic accident. We aren’t sure how we, Milo and Liam will navigate this new path yet but we do know we will continue to honor his beautiful soul and the light he shone to anyone and everyone in his presence. We are absolutely heartbroken beyond repair but appreciate the love and support we’ve received from our family, friends and our Harvard Community. Celebration of Life will be Saturday, October 28th from 11-3, with service beginning at 3 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvard, IL. More details to come.
