Personal Statement
Volunteering: Valley Hospital (over 70 hours, and will continue throughout high school), organized a town wide collection system for food to give to underprivileged, prepared and served food to homeless shelter in Paterson, NJ.
What would make me a good college student-athlete golfer: My ability to spend countless hours playing golf and learning about golf would make me an excellent fit for college golf, and developing into a great player. As a student, I had to balance two varsity sports with school, and managed to excel in multiple honors classes.
I will be a good college teammate because: I am always looking to benefit my teammates abilities, whether in soccer or golf. I have helped teammates correct faults in their swings and help them learn how read putts more accurately. In soccer, I have been able to help new freshmen adjust to the varsity level.
I am looking for a university and a golf program that: The major thing I'm looking for in a university and golf program is the university's academics and the golf-programs ability to help me become the best golfer I can be.
The strengths of my golf game are: My greatest strength in my golf game is my ability to bounce back from bad shots. Whether it is a bad drive or iron shot I won't get my head down, and will scramble to save par. My ability to get myself out of a tough situation has proven to be an effective tool, and the best part of my golf game.
The weaknesses of my golf game are: My biggest weakness in my golf game is my consistency off of the tee. My ability to drive the ball far has proven to be a major asset on long golf courses, however I am not consistent throughout the entire round in hitting the ball in the fairway. Usually hit around 8 fairways, but rarely badly miss of tees, just into the rough.
I think I will continue to improve because: I believe I will continue to become a better golfer because my relentless want to be great. When I finish a round, whether it is good or bad, I practice right after. I will focus on the aspect of my game that was weakest during the round, trying to improve the weakness for the next round.
