Joseph M. Young II Obituary, Death – On November 15, 2023, Joseph M. Young II passed away in Silver Spring, Maryland. He was a cherished husband, devoted father, and well-liked member of the community. Joseph, who was lovingly referred to as “Mike,” shone brightly and filled everyone with love. He left a lasting impression on everyone he came into contact with. Joseph was the beloved son of the late Joseph M. Young, Sr. and Wille Mae Young.

He was raised in Riverdale, MD, after being born in Washington, D.C. His beloved wife, Silver Spring, Maryland’s Angela L. Swainson, and their cherished children, Jordan, Angela Jr., and Josephine, carry on his legacy. Along with his loving nieces, nephews, and extended relatives, he is also survived by his mother, W. Mae Young, and brother, Jorlando Montgomery Young.

History was Joseph’s interest, and this was shown in his excursions to Renaissance fairs, his reading of historical literature, and his travels to historical places around the nation. His successful dream trip to Japan was evidence of his curiosity and spirit of adventure. Joseph’s family sincerely asks that donations be made to his GoFundMe page in his memory, so that his legacy as a loving husband and father may live on. At 10:30 AM on Friday, December 1, 2023, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Landover Hills, Maryland, will have a memorial mass.

The Board & Brew in College Park, MD will host a Celebration of Life from 12 PM to 3 PM after this, giving friends and family a chance to honor Joseph’s life. Joseph M. Young II left a path of priceless memories, love, and joy that will always be in the hearts of everyone who had the honor of knowing him. His legacy will live on through the innumerable lives he touched.
