Kembly Lavern “Phelps” Trotter, born Nov. 28, 1963 in Norfolk, VA, to the union of Peggy E. Farmer Phelps and the late William Phelps II. Kem was preceded in death by her sister Teresa Phelps and grandmother, Mary E. Slade. Kem attended Norfolk Schools, where she developed lifelong friendships and an appreciation for learning and work ethic. She worked in Virginia Beach at SL Nusbaum Realty, where her employer loved her. Kem never met a stranger, her family was everything and she was a guardian angel to many. As God changes us to be servants, Kem answered the call. Holidays, family reunions, traveling, and opportunities to celebrate were absolutely the times most cherished by Kem and will be missed by her loved ones. June 21, 2007 Kem married the love of her life, James Waidell Trotter. Kem gained 3 beautiful stepkids; James, Traney, and Ashley, she loved and treated them as her own. Kem leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, James W. Trotter; her mother, Peggy E. Farmer Phelps; her son, Delvin Phelps; stepchildren; James, Traney, and Ashley. Her devoted special niece, Quartina Lynch (Isaac), adopted daughter Inez Robins, and God kids. Two siblings; Clarence Farmer and William Phelps III; two uncles, Randal Farmer and Kevin Farmer (Barbara), and a host of nieces, nephews, a great nephew, relatives, and friends. Love she showed and love she shared, her loving spirit will be missed.
