Kevin was born in Neptune, New Jersey to Harry Lake Jr. and Vivian Lake. After graduating high school, he joined the Army. He served from 1971-1983 and was fortunate enough to be stationed abroad in several places including his grandparents’ home country of Italy. He left active duty at the rank of Sergeant E-6. In the Army, Kevin met the love of his life, Helen. They fell in love almost instantly, marrying on January 20, 1973. Against the odds, they maintained lifelong partners for over 49 years, having 4 children together. Kevin was extremely proud of his children and wife and always tried his best to support them. He worked as a trucker, traveling all across the states and though it took him away from his family, he did get to see America from a different view. He was a walking GPS that could tell you all the shortcuts to take and ways to avoid high traffic areas.

Anyone who knew Kevin could tell you of his love for the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. He enjoyed going to various airshows and checking out vintage aircraft. He appreciated visiting the historical areas and battlefields across Virginia. His fondness for corned beef, Westerns, and spaghetti was only surpassed by his love for bacon, sour cream apple pie, and more bacon. With Kevin’s dark sense of humor, he might have driven you crazy or made you laugh your pants off, it was never assured which way it might go.

Kevin was predeceased by his father, Harry Lake Jr.. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen; 4 children: Katherine Lake, Nancy Brasfield, Tammylee Lake-Garcia and husband, Sam, and Harry Lake III; mother, Vivian (Monaco) Lake; sister, Sharon Lake-Gargano and husband, Rick; brother, Joseph Lake and wife, Cassandra; grandchildren: Micheal Romero, Samuel Garcia Jr., Shelby Brasfield, Vivian Brasfield, and Isabella Garcia.
