Larry James Wyns was born on September 20, 1958, in Cocoa, Florida, to the late Robert Willis and Macie Bell Wyns. He was one of seven children. Larry graduated from Rockledge High School in Cocoa, Florida. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy. Larry had a long career in the Navy and retired as a Chief after completing 20 years of service.
After retiring from U.S Navy, Larry decided to remain in Virginia to be close to his loving daughter Stephanie and grandchildren Tiani, Ariel, Ronald, Jr., and QuaShayla. Upon retiring, he created several businesses. His most recent venture was his tow truck company, Road Dawg Towing. Additionally, he had a special love for riding motorcycles and fast cars. This love for fast cars allowed him to become a member of the Corvette Club.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Macie Wyns, and a sister Rey Jean Slaughter. Left to cherish his legacy is his daughter Stephanie Lawrence-Rogers of Chesapeake, Virginia, his grandchildren Tiani McIntyre, Ariel McIntyre, Ronald Rogers, Jr., and Quashayla Lawrence; three brothers Ronald Wyns of Bowling Green, Florida, Kenneth Wyns of Cocoa, Florida, and Curtis (Valerie) Wyns of Rockledge, Florida; and two sisters, Linda (Michael) Williams of Tampa, Florida, and Sharon (Larry) Knight of Pensacola, Florida; goddaughter Shanta Mitchell of Portsmouth, Virginia, his best friends Carla Rogers and Martha Carroll, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
