Symere Bysil Woods, better known as Lil Uzi Vert, recently disclosed that his fans grabbed the $24 million (Rs. 176 crores) pink diamond placed in his forehead during crowd surfing at one of his gigs.

On July 23, Lil Uzi Vert performed at the Rolling Loud Miami 2021 festival. “I was performing at Rolling Loud, and I jumped into the crowd, and they just kind of ripped it out,” he told TMZ. “Well, I am feeling good,” he answered when asked how he was feeling by the reporter. “I’m happy because I still have the diamond.”

The diamond was initially referenced by Uzi in a tweet in January. He explained how, since 2017, he has been paying for a natural pink diamond made by a designer named Elliot Eliantte. “The stone cost so much that I’ve been paying for it since 2017. That was the first time I saw a real natural pink diamond,” he wrote in the said tweet. Determining the prices of these diamonds is extremely complicated as explained by Petra Gems’ article.

A month later, he flaunted his enormous pink diamond piercing into his forehead in a video posted to Instagram, where he is followed by more than 13 million people. He also showed his followers the gleaming new stone in videos on his Instagram Story at the time.

The diamond, according to Uzi, is about 11 carats and is worth more than all of his cars and home combined. “Yes, My Bugatti can’t even pay for it,” he answered to a fan via a tweet when asked if the diamond is worth all of his automobiles. “Even All of my cars and my home can’t,” he further wrote.

Wondering if the diamond was real, a fan said that they hoped it “holds its value.” Lil Uzi Vert, responding with a kissy face emoji, wrote, “GIA Natural,” the Gemological Institute of America.

It should be noted that it is still unknown whether the stone was taken out on purpose or due to the local festival’s commotion. Regardless, he still has the diamond; it’s just not in his head anymore, as he now has a barbell piercing where the diamond used to be

While it doesn’t appear that Uzi took the situation seriously, he made it clear that improperly removing the diamond might be dangerous. In a since-deleted tweet from February, he claimed that removing the diamond without following the right procedure may be lethal.

The Vision comparisons

The two-time Grammy nominee got the diamond piercing earlier this year, and it went viral as admirers compared him to Marvel’s The Vision, an android member of the Avengers. A magical gem inserted in Vision’s forehead provides him with his abilities.

Fans connected Lil Uzi’s blunder to Thanos ripping the jewel from Vision’s head in Avengers: Infinity War, sparking yet another wave of Vision analogies on social media this week. But the comparisons seem to be a bit off since he has recovered his diamond and are “happy.”

But regardless of the fact that he could find his briefly-lost diamond, he must have realized that not everything can be put on publicly, since doing so can be potentially threatening. This explains why he is no longer seen sporting the 11-carat stone, though he had initially implanted the diamond in his forehead because he thought it would be safe there.
