Step into Fairy Tale Village at Crown Center, where timeless children’s stories come alive to inspire young imaginations and encourage creative play. Entry to the exhibit is FREE for all.
Around every corner of this fairy tale experience, children can discover and interact with classic characters such as: Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Pinocchio, The Snow Queen, and more.
Throughout the summer, Crown Center is offering special activities to make your visit to Fairy Tale Village even more fun:
Dress Up Days
On the second Sunday of each month of the exhibit’s run (July 9 and August 13, noon to 5 p.m.), children are invited to visit Fairy Tale Village dressed as their favorite fairy tale characters. Those who visit in costume will receive a coupon to redeem that same day for a little treat at Sheridan’s Frozen Custard & Lattés.
Color Your Own Fairy Tale
Children can take home coloring pages to create their own colorful fairy tale. Completed coloring pages can be brought back to Fairy Tale Village and will be displayed in the “Once Upon A Time Gallery.” Each child who returns with a completed coloring page will receive a prize.
This exhibit is designed to entertain toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary school children (ages 2-10). Most visitors spend 30 minutes to 1 hour in Fairy Tale Village, but visitors of all ages are welcome to stay as long as they’d like.
In addition to visiting this enchanted world, plan a visit to Hallmark’s Kaleidoscope experience, located in the Crown Center complex, which offers exciting chances for kids to create whatever they can dream up.
Create Fairy Tale Art Projects
At Kaleidoscope children can use their imaginations to create an art project about a favorite fairy tale. Then, bring those props to Fairy Tale Village and take a picture in a special exhibit piece designed to make each child the star. Make a reservation in advance to guarantee space in one of Kaleidoscope’s FREE 50-minute studio art sessions, offered Tuesday through Saturday.
Experience the New kaLIGHToscope!
Kaleidoscope’s new immersive exhibit is like stepping inside a giant kaleidoscope! The well-named kaLIGHToscope! lets kids explore playing with light and kaleidoscope effects in big, fun, colorful ways. It’s all part of the Kaleidoscope FREE experience, and reservations are encouraged. Walk-in guests will be admitted as space allows.
A visit to Crown Center provides so many ways to entertain and delight the family, so plan your next summer outing to take in the enchanted world of Fairy Tale Village and Kaleidoscope, as well as the many other Crown Center attractions.
The Fairy Tale Village exhibit runs through Monday, Sept. 4, in the Crown Center Showplace on Level 1 of the Crown Center Shops. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. (Holiday hours for Fourth of July and Labor Day: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Admission is FREE.
