The week between Christmas and New Years is a time to relax, kick back, and take a break from your usual beauty routine. And it appears Mariah Carey is one person who is wholeheartedly taking this advice in stride.
Just a few days after the holiday, the singer stepped out for a little shopping in Aspen, Colorado, swapping out her signature sleek blowout for the big natural curls she was known for in the '90s. For the occasion, Mariah swept her honey-blonde ringlets off to one side and secured them with a sparkly silver headband. Adding to the nostalgia factor, she sported a black velour tracksuit accented with sequined stars and a pair of black pinstriped leg warmers.

She topped off her outfit with a shiny black Chanel puffer vest, and accessorized with black patent-leather platform boots, matching oversized sunglasses, and an extravagant ruby-and-diamond necklace.
Carey previously opened up about the struggles of having curly hair at the beginning of her career. “I said I wanted to be a singer; I wanted to be an actress. And they were all like, ‘Haha,’” recalled Carey during a 2014 interview with CNN. “Because, of course, at that point, I still didn’t really have conditioner or know how to comb through textured hair.”
Today, Carey is a pro at doing her own hair and if she doesn't have a stylist at her disposal, she says, "I'll keep it natural."
