Personal Statement
I am currently a 6-6, 215 lbs. Senior Long Snapper at Hillcrest High School in Southern California, where I am also a Varsity Swim team member and a JV and Varsity Basketball player. I am currently ranked in the top twenty by Kohls Kicking and Rubio Long Snapping. What I like most about the position of Long Snapper is how similar it is to my personality. In The position is not flashy or an explosive crowd pleaser. It’s generally not glamorous, boastful, outspoken, or even sometimes recognized. What Long Snapping and Long Snappers in general are, are dependable, consistent, and highly coachable skilled athletes who gladly take the field in some of the most pressure filled situations in the game, knowing full well after the play most won’t appreciate or even remember their role.
I am not very outspoken, boastful, or overly aggressive. I do not crave nor do I seek attention. I take well to coaching, learn new skills rapidly, and am content doing what I love without glory or recognition.
Outside of school and athletics, I enjoy the love and support of my mother, father, and younger sister. I am an accomplished surfer and enjoy snowboarding and an occasional video game or YouTube video. I prefer to stay somewhat active and volunteer in my community as well.
The area where I can most improve is academically. I excel at Mathematics and Physical Sciences. My weakness areas are foreign language and history. I am constantly striving for that 4.0 and have shown steady improvement since my freshman year. I also have taken classes over summer to allow me to carry an additional elective.
Currently I am commited to Boise Stare University as a preferred walk-on.
