Matt Ryan was born as the third of four children to his parents, Michael “Mike” Ryan Sr. and Bernice Ryan. As a child, he grew up with all three of his siblings in Exton, Pennsylvania.
Matt has an older brother named Michael Ryan and a younger brother called John Ryan. Besides two brothers, Matt also has an older sister named Kate.
The athlete and his younger brother both attended the same William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia high school, William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia. However, his older brother Michael "Motts" went to Malvern Preparatory School, often called Malvern Prep.
The three brothers share common interests and hobbies, which have helped them strengthen their bond. All three of them play football. Matt and his older brother Michael also share their love for golfing.
The Ryan Brothers do not have much of an age difference. When John, the youngest brother, was in high school senior year, Matt had just started college, and Michael was in his first year as the assistant football coach at Penn Charter School.
