The rookie put up eye-popping numbers, batting .326 with 30 homers, 83 RBI and leading the league in runs scored with 129 and stolen bases with 49.

He finished second for the batting title behind only Miguel Cabrera, was third in on-base percentage, third in slugging percentage, third in on-base plus slugging (OPS), third in triples and led the league in the sabermetric WAR stat with a robust 10.7.

Although I am not predicting he wins the award, there would be no shock or argument at all if he was awarded the MVP in his first season in the Majors (he did play 40 games in the Majors in 2011 as well).
