Bravo’s Real Housewives have been coining phrases for years. But, the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City brings up a new one for fans who are now totally confused. Monica Garcia has been bringing the drama this season, and it turns out she’s bringing new vocab to the show, too.

Monica Garcia only just joined The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City in season 4. The fresh batch of episodes kicked off in September last year and saw Monica join the likes of Heather Gay and Meredith Marks on-screen. No time was wasted when it came to getting to know the newbie as fans were given all the juicy details of her strained relationship with her mother and much more on the Bravo show.

RHOSLC fans puzzled by ‘touchet’

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City ladies aired out all the season 4 drama during the show’s reunion part two airing on January 16.

Lisa Barlow, Whitney Rose, and the rest of the ladies hashed out their differences with Lisa saying Monica was “nasty” to her “all season.”

During the ladies’ fight, Monica shouted “touchet, touchet,” prompting her co-stars to ask: “What does touchet mean?”

Fans were quick to comment on the moment on Instagram, writing: “Please for the love of god tell me she means touché.”

Another wrote: “And even if she meant “touche”, that doesn’t even work in that instance.”

Monica’s ‘not dumb’

Discussing the repeated mention of ‘touchet’ at the RHOSLC season 4 reunion, fans were quick to state Monica’s “not dumb” on a Reddit thread.

Viewers would be right in saying so because the 40-year-old is apparently making a movie reference by using her new favorite word.

The entrepreneur had many people saying they “couldn’t take her seriously” because of her use of “touchet” and lots believed she was mispronouncing the word “touché.”

But, it turns out she’s making a reference to 2023 film The Equalizer 3. In a scene from the movie, Denzel Washington’s character, Robert McCall, says “touchet.”

The fans who knew of the Real Housewife’s movie reference were quick to jump to her defense writing: “It’s a joke” on the thread.

However, it went over many viewers’ heads, with one chiming in: “It’s only funny if others are in on it. Otherwise, it just falls flat … which it did.”

Monica spelled it out to her followers by sharing a clip from the reunion and the scene from the movie on her Instagram page after the show.
