Morris Thomas Parker of Portsmouth, Virginia entered into eternal rest on July 6, 2020. He was born to the loving union of the late Gurney Parker and Rena Lucille Parker-Laws. Morris Parker received his early childhood education from Portsmouth Public Schools. He served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. Morris loved his family time. He would always accept others for who they were and would make everyone he knew feel the same. He was kindhearted and would make new friends wherever he would travel. He was a vivid outgoing person who seemed to act as a magnet drawing people to him. Morris had a kind and forgiving spirit. Morris enjoyed life to the fullest. Morris will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Today, we know he is in a better place, as for Christian’s we know that, “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Angela Jordan; a son, Carlos Edwards; a brother, Gurney Milton Parker, two nephews, Morris Jordan (Lakeitha) and Randolph Joyner (Tabitha), a devoted niece, Latriecia Powell (Bobby); a devoted cousin, Robinette Childs (Robert); a special friend, William Duke Blow, two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five great nieces and a host of other relatives and friends. Morris may no longer be with us but his loving spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
