The King still reigns supreme.
Even though Kawhi Leonard led the Toronto Raptors to their first championship in franchise history and Giannis Antetokounmpo won the league MVP, LeBron James is still the top-rated player in the NBA 2K franchise.
NBA 2K20 revealed the ratings of the top 20 players on a Twitter livestream on Monday, and James checked in just ahead of Leonard, Antetokounmpo and the rest of the field.
1. LeBron James, 97 overall
2. Kawhi Leonard, 97
3. Giannis Antetokounmpo, 96
7. Anthony Davis, 94
10. Joel Embiid, 91
12. Nikola Jokic, 90
14. Klay Thompson, 89
15. Karl-Anthony Towns, 89
16. Jimmy Butler, 88
17. Kemba Walker, 88
18. Donovan Mitchell, 88
19. Rudy Gobert, 88
NBA 2K20 @NBA2KBoth a 97 overall but LeBron has the slight edge on Kawhi in initial NBA 2K20 Ratings 😳 Let the debate begin #2KRatings
James isn't the only member of the Los Angeles Lakers who featured prominently in the stream, as new teammate Anthony Davis joined the broadcast and said it was "something you always dream of" when asked how he feels about being the cover athlete for the newest edition of the game.
Davis checked in at No. 7 in the rankings, which was good enough to be considered the best big man. He said he thought his rating would have been higher if the second half of the 2018-19 campaign didn't unravel for his New Orleans Pelicans following trade rumors that connected him to the Lakers.
It was also fitting Davis was present because the number of dynamic duos in the NBA was a frequent topic of discussion during the ratings reveal.
The six-time All-Star said it was "shocking" to find out the Los Angeles Clippers landed both Leonard and Paul George this offseason, but he at least has temporary bragging rights after Monday's reveal:

New Orleans can no longer enjoy Davis after he was traded to the Lakers, but it can at least take solace knowing it has the top-rated rookie in NBA 2K20. Zion Williamson checked in at an 81 overall, which was two points ahead of No. 2 pick Ja Morant and three points ahead of Duke teammate RJ Barrett.

The Pelicans also have one of the top three-point shooters in the game, as only Stephen Curry (99), Klay Thompson (97) and Joe Harris (94) checked in ahead of JJ Redick (90) in the three-point ratings.
Davis stuck up for Thompson and said even two points was too big of a gap between the Splash Brothers.

While NBA fans still have to wait to see Davis in a Lakers uniform, Russell Westbrook in a Houston Rockets jersey and Kevin Durant on the floor for the Brooklyn Nets, Monday's ratings reveal at least provided a template for another offseason debate.
Antetokounmpo and Leonard may be the ones holding the hardware after the 2018-19 season, but the video game franchise still believes James runs the league as the top player.
