Nikki Haley is a politician, diplomat, businesswoman, and author. She was born in Bamberg, South Carolina in January 1972 and is a Republican. Haley graduated from Clemson University and married Michael Haley in 1996. She served as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from January 2005 to January 2011 and was the 116th Governor of South Carolina from January 2011 to January 2017.
During her tenure as governor, Haley became the first female Indian-American governor in the U.S. and the first female governor of South Carolina. In January 2017, she was appointed as the 29th United States Ambassador to the United Nations and served in that role until December 2018.
While she was U.N. ambassador, Haley affirmed the United States’ willingness to resort to military force to respond to future North Korean missile tests and was a supporter of Israel. Haley’s net worth is estimated to be $2 million.
