Personal Statement
I've worked hard to earn a spot on the varsity team at Junipero Serra high school my junior year bouncing back from a labrum tear my sophomore year which I opted to have surgery. I am now a senior, my last year in high school playing varsity baseball. This is what I've been waiting for. My athleticism and speed is my asset. Having been a lead off hitter for most of my baseball career, I've learned to be patient at the plate and to get on base. Once I'm on base, I get in the pitchers head taking big leads to get to the next base without getting caught. My goals are simple: grow as an individual, develop mentally and physically, while also being a team player/leader and respecting the game of baseball. I want to be better than I was yesterday and build on mental skills I need to learn to be able to play at the next level with confidence and determination. I'm working off the field constantly to improve my swing, improve my game and stay hungry for the game, my goals and dream to continue to play this game that I love. I'm learning the importance of academics and striving to improve my grades each semester, and further broaden my knowledge to give me the skills to be a man on and off the field.
My next goal is to get a college education majoring in Entrepreneurship as well as playing baseball at the next level. I want to help contribute to pay for my education with the skills/talent that I have.
