ATLANTA -- Some fans of the Simpsons - and beer - have reason to celebrate.
According to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), 21st Century Fox has green lighted actual Duff beer.
That's right, the drink behind some of Homer Simpson's greatest blunders and adventures - and the drink of choice at Moe's - in the fictional town of Springfield may soon officially make its way to the non-animated world.
It's not exactly the first time a Duff brand beer has appeared on store shelves with a goal of capitalizing on the longest running animated series in television history.
As WSJ's Keach Hagey points out, though, the other brews caught legal flack from Fox since they weren't officially licensed or connected with the real brand in any way.
The new beer may bring some excitement into the hearts of collectors and beer drinkers alike.
There is a catch at this point, however, Hagey reports.
The beer will only initially be available in Chile with goals to expand in South America and Europe in early 2016.
Why Chile though? The answer actually makes sense.
The country is one of the faster growing markets for unauthorized "Duff beers", WSJ reports.
So the company apparently sees a market for the drink.
For now, fans of the beer stateside will have to wait - or go to the Universal Studios theme parks in Orlando or Los Angeles to get a taste of an officially licensed beer without making a lengthy trip.
