Paris Bennett mother Charity Bennett is a former waitress and author. Charity lives in Georgia with her youngest son Phoenix in Georgia.
Charity Lee Bennett worked as a waitress at a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant near Abilene, Texas, when the incident took place on February 5, 2007.
After that dark day, she moved to San Antonio and eventually received a crisis interventionist license. She often collaborated with the San Antonio Police Department, providing on-site support to victims of violent crimes. She also set up the Ella Foundation in honor of her deceased daughter.
In 2020, she published a book called "How Now, Butterfly?: A Memoir Of Murder, Survival, and Transformation," co-authored by Brian Whitney. In the book, she talks about her experience dealing with her daughter's demise, son's imprisonment and how she dealt with the tragedy.
Charity, who is 49 years old now, eventually gave birth to her third child, a son named Phoenix, in 2013.
According to San Antonio Current, Paris wrote to his mom before she gave birth to Phoenix. He expressed excitement for having a baby brother but also showed remorse as he would never be involved in his sibling's life.
In an interview with the New York Post in 2020, Bennett mentioned that she had forgiven Paris for the crimes he committed and still loved him as her firstborn.
However, in June 2021, Lee shared a lengthy Facebook status claiming she had walked out of Paris' life. She took the decision after finding out that Paris was involved with a woman, who lived only two hours away from her and had planned a mass shooting when out on bond.
Further, Charity also shut down the Ella Foundation in 2021 as she felt it was time to move on in her life.
As of 2023, she lives a quiet life in Georgia with her third child. Meanwhile, Phoenix is also growing up to be a smart kid. The 10-year-old with an IQ of 132 was diagnosed with ADHD in 2021 and is currently taking low-dose medications for his condition.
