He later pursued a career in comedy and performed stand-up in strip clubs and bars before being cast in the “Jackie Gleason Show” in 1953. Cooper went on to perform at high-profile clubs like the 500 Club and Palumbo’s and shared the stage with Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Tony Martin in Las Vegas and Atlantic City casinos.

In the late 60s, Cooper co-starred in a two-man show on Broadway and appeared in films like “Analyze This” and “Analyze That” as well as TV shows like “Seinfeld”.
