Acting Career

Dooley’s career spanned over six decades, with over 200 acting credits to his name. He is best known for his roles in films such as The Out-of-Towners, Slap Shot, and Hairspray. He also provided the voice of Sarge in the Cars movies. On television, Dooley had recurring roles on shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm and Desperate Housewives. He was nominated for Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on The Practice and Dream On.

Personal Life and Real Estate

Dooley has been married to screenwriter Winnie Holzman since 1984. They have four children, including Savannah Dooley, who is also an actress and writer. Holzman co-wrote the musical Wicked, which has earned over $1 billion worldwide.

In 2012, Dooley and Holzman purchased a beachfront home in Malibu, California for just under $7 million. They listed the home for sale in 2020 for $7.5 million, but ultimately accepted an offer of $5.75 million. In 2019, they purchased a home in Toluca Lake, California for $5.2 million.
