An injured Tennessee mother, who intervened when her two pit bulls mauled her toddlers to death on Wednesday, is now in stable condition with stitches and bite marks on her body.
In Shelby county, Tennessee, Kirstie Jane Bennard, 30, suffered severe injuries when her 5-month-old boy, Hollace Dean Bennard, and her 2-year-old daughter, Lilly Jane Bennard, were attacked by the dogs.
Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has released a tweet informing the public that both children have been found dead at the scene of the accident.
According to Jeff Gibson, the uncle of Colby Bennard, the mother’s condition is stable, but her body is covered in bite marks and stitches. (wrote on Facebook)
According to Gibson, the tragic incident lasted about 10 minutes. Details of the attack and why the animals turned aggressive remain unclear.
According to the family member, “As of now, there doesn’t appear to be any permanent damage except for a heart that will never repair itself.”
