Mary Makes It Easy recipes: Tartiflette

Mary Makes It Easy episode 1 aired on November 2. The show’s first installment saw Mary and Mel rustle up some incredible-looking recipes.

Hoping to encourage Mel into the kitchen with some easy weekend creations, the two whipped up a warming chicken tartiflette, a vegetable spaghetti ragu, and some simple raspberry parfaits.

To make Mary’s crowd-pleasing chicken tartiflette, you’ll only need one dish.

Firstly, start by slicing parma ham, onions, and sliced new potatoes, as well as two cloves of finely grated garlic.

Then, all the ingredients and olive oil are placed into an oven dish. Mary then places the mixture into the oven for 25 minutes at 180 fan.

Next, season six chicken breasts, and wrap them each in parma ham “to make the dish more special.”

Mary adds Reblochon cheese, button mushrooms, 150 ml of double cream, and 200 ml of white wine to the oven dish.

She lays the chicken breasts on top of the other ingredients and places them in the oven for 20-25 minutes.

Once cooked, Mary takes the chicken out of the dish to rest. She adds 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh thyme, two of parsley, the juice of half a lemon, and one tablespoon of “grainy mustard.”

Lastly, stir everything together then carve the chicken breasts into three parts.

Make Mary’s ciabatta

Mary’s ciabatta tricolor from episode 1 is “a bit like a very quick pizza.”

To create the dish, Mary grabs a shop-bought ciabatta and toasts it in the oven on one side.

She mixes up sun-dried tomato paste, cream cheese, chopped fresh basil, and grated garlic to spread onto the bread.

Mary then slices avocado, and tomato and layers onto the ciabatta before adding mozzarella to top.

She places the ciabatta into the oven to make sure the mozzarella is bubbling and gooey, then finishes the dish with balsamic glaze.
