In January 2022, Josh Waring faced another arrest that added to his troubled legal history. A police officer recognised him in the passenger seat of a vehicle during a routine check. 

The officer had jurisdiction to search the car because Waring was on parole then. 

During the search, the police officer allegedly found fentanyl and methamphetamine on Waring’s lap. 

As per the report, he was accused of trying to conceal the drugs by brushing them onto the car’s floor. 

Consequently, Waring was taken into custody and faced serious charges, including felony possession and sale of fentanyl.

 Along with a misdemeanour of possession of methamphetamine.

Previous legal issues and the 2016 shooting incident

The January 2022 arrest was not the first time Josh Waring had encountered legal trouble. In 2016, he faced an arrest that led to severe charges and a lengthy legal process. 

The incident involved a shooting outside a sober living home in Costa Mesa, California. The victim, Daniel Lopez, survived being shot in the lower torso. 

At the time, Waring was 27 years old and was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, vehicle theft, felony evading, hit and run, and assault and battery.

Witnesses identified him, and his bail was set at $1 million.

The trial and plea deal

Following the 2016 arrest, RHOC Lauri son Josh, awaited trial four times while in jail. In March 2020, he reached a plea deal to resolve the charges against him. 

Waring contended shamefaced to multiple felony counts, including assault with an arm,  escaping a peace officer, two counts of assault,  megahit- and- run with property damage, and battery.   

The plea deal resulted in a sentence of seven years and four months in jail, including the time he’d formerly spent awaiting trial.

She highlighted the substantial sentence Waring could have faced and expressed hope for a new beginning.

Additional charges and legal issues

Despite his release on parole, Josh Waring faced further legal challenges. 

In June 2020, he was charged with three misdemeanours: possessing a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, and misrepresenting himself to police.

Moreover, in May 2021, Waring faced yet another arrest when he was caught riding a rental car that had been reported stolen from John Wayne Airport.
