Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune confirmed Gobert will play against Atlanta.
Gobert's Return Will Give Jazz Added Defensive Presence
Gobert was a relative unknown during a rookie season that saw him log just 45 appearances, but he grew into a full-blown defensive force after Enes Kanter was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder last February.
Following the All-Star break, Gobert averaged 11.1 points, 13.4 rebounds and 2.5 blocks while recording an individual defensive rating of 93. By season's end, Gobert ranked second among all players with a defensive box score plus/minus of plus-5.1.
Now in his first season as a full-time starter at center, Gobert's averaging 8.7 points, 11.9 rebounds and 3.4 blocks.
The Stifle Tower has quickly emerged as the fulcrum of Utah's defense, but without him, the Jazz would be hard-pressed to intimidate opponents around the rim.
