Stacey Solomon’s Christmas pudding wreath on her Crafty Christmas BBC One series has us green with jealousy. It costs less than a tenner to make the upcycled festive door decoration, though. Stacey is the queen of home décor – and she always takes it up a few notches for Christmas.
She soared to fame on The X Factor, going on to star in her own BBC shows like Sort Your Life Out and Stacey Solomon’s Crafty Christmas. Stacey is now bringing us homemade gifts and decorations that she hopes will bring joy and wonder without blowing the budget. The Christmas pudding wreath? We need it.
Stacey Solomon’s Christmas pudding wreath
Stacey Solomon makes a Christmas pudding wreath with 3 red baubles, gold sequins, craft glue, green, brown and ribbon, and a swimming pool noodle you can wind the ribbon round.
You will also need gaffer tape and pins, but a glue gun could help make it easier to make. The wreath instructions for Stacey’s wreath on BBC‘s Crafty Christmas are:
- Take your pool noodle and bend it to create a circle, attach the ends together using gaffer tape.
- Use pins in a neat line across the end of the brown ribbon or fabric to secure it and wrap the whole noodle. Be sure to wrap tightly so you can’t see the bright colour underneath.
- Once the noodle is completely wrapped, tuck the fabric neatly at the end and secure with pins.
- Repeat the same around half of the pudding with the white or cream ribbon.
- Glue the sequins on with clear PVA glue to the brown section of the pudding.
- Glue together 3 baubles and secure them to the top of the wreath.
- Loop the green ribbon around the top of your pudding this will be used to hang the wreath.
- Tie a bow and attach it to the top of your wreath.
Crafty Christmas wreath costs less than £10
Stacey is all about making homemade gifts that don’t break the bank this year. Her upcycled pudding wreaths are sure to be a hit this year – and she even had a giggle when she saw herself in the baubles!
She adds gold sequins to represent currants using a few drops of glue, which gives the brown pudding area a “bit of sparkle”. And Stacey isn’t hanging about, as she hung it straight up!
Stacey told BBC: “I’m so excited to bring Crafty Christmas back this year! Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love to craft. Home-made, thoughtful gifts that don’t break the bank mean so much more.”
