Actor Steve McQueen’s cause of death was heart failure in 1980, at a Juárez clinic while recuperating from surgery to remove deadly stomach and neck tumors.

Ramon Renteria of the El Paso Times reported from Juarez that Dr. Cesar Santos Vargas had compassion for the sick guy Steve McQueen, also called Sam Sheppard.

Santos, a surgeon and kidney specialist from Juarez, developed a reputation for treating injured bullfighters years ago.

The death of Steve at 2:50 a.m. on Friday in his Juarez clinic garnered Santos widespread attention.

Was cancer Steve Mcqueen’s cause of death?

Sheppard, aka the actor Steve McQueen, sought relief from excruciating cancer that was taking his life at Santos’ Clinica de Santa Rosa.

Santos reported that McQueen signed an operating agreement and arrived at the clinic at around 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

McQueen underwent surgery to remove the advanced deadly tumors in his neck and stomach by Santos and his assistant, Dr. Guillermo Bermudez. The surgery was carried out from 8 to 11 a.m.

Santos said that following the procedure, McQueen’s health seemed to stabilize. But later on Thursday, he started having respiratory issues, and a few hours later, he passed away from heart failure.

He was 50 years old at the time of his death.

Santos claimed the actor was aware of the surgery’s potential risks. Santos remarked, ‘I believe something might have been done to make his remaining days more pleasant if it hadn’t been for the heart failure.’

Santos claimed McQueen might have lived another two or three months if he hadn’t had surgery. The ill actor’s belly had a 5-pound tumor removed by Juarez medical professionals.

He experienced severe agony due to the malignancy. Unfortunately, the surgeon stated that the sickness was too advanced in this case.

Santos accommodated a crowd of reporters in his cramped office on Friday afternoon and discussed the possibility that McQueen might travel to Mexico for medical care.

According to Santos, he and his wife requested the surgery because he was in extreme pain and was constantly sedated. McQueen survived the procedure for roughly 13 hours.

After the surgery, Steve was able to speak and was awake. The actor could also chew on bits, but he was still uncomfortable. Santos said the abdominal tumor was so giant that it took time to suffocate and kill him.

According to the surgeon, two family friends were beside McQueen’s bedside when he passed away.

According to Santos, McQueen may have been referred to his practice by other cancer patients. He claimed that the actor’s family was against putting him in the public eye and was annoyed with the journalists.

The doctor reported that McQueen passed away during his sleep due to heart failure.
