Like its sibling of the same name in nearby Pilsley, this 18th-century coaching inn turned upmarket Peak District bolthole is owned by the Chatsworth Estate and is perfectly placed for exploring the national park. Expect elegant rooms, a cosy bar and cut-above food, all wrapped up in a quaint village setting.
